| WHAT IS FLOORTECHNIQUE™? It is a blend of Pilates and Yoga that I have developed over the past 25 years, also drawing on my experience as a dancer, a teacher, and my involvement with other disciplines such as Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique. It has grown out of my own past injuries and my experiences with my students who are and unending source of inspiration and education as to finding out what the human body is capable of. No matter what your level of fitness, I'm sure that I have a class that you will feel comfortable in. You don't have to worry about the effects of gravity on your joints, and it is the perfect training method if you are injured. Many people with back problems find this work very beneficial. I have had many doctors and physical therapists who take classes. Most people find the work very relaxing, releasing stress and calming the mind, as this work is about using the brain as well as the body. Good humor is also an integral part of this class as it is so important to have fun. But don’t be misled that we are not going to be working! A typical class begins with breathing and relaxation, centering the body and mind. Gradually building, working all the muscles and joints through specific exercises. We finish with 20-30 minutes of stretching. When you have finished the class you will feel refreshed and ready to go! If you take 2 classes twice a week you will feel a difference in how you are standing ,how you are breathing and you will notice that your clothes are fitting better, After a month your friends will probably notice a change in your appearance. It’s a great way to become reacquainted with your body. IF YOU ARE A DANCER you will find that FLOORTECHNIQUE™ helps with correct placement and core stability. Learn to use your body efficiently while developing strength and flexibility. You will have a better understanding of how to make the best use of your turnout. Why not try a class today?
